The Visit

The librarian and beast walk hand in paw
down the road of jewels and crystals
the morning star lights the horizon

Inns and camps dot their journey
They duck from town to town
Under the gazes of mistrust

Their mission shrouded in secrecy
The road ahead is treacherous
The witch of the future waits!

The scorned witch lies in exile
Life dripping from her arms
She hibernates

her saviors step into her enclosure
And pull her from her slumber
The apocalypses fade

The librarian and beast beg for her help
They plead for her insight
They long for salvation

The heartbroken visionary shakes her head
No, she cannot use her powers. Not again.
She remembers. She remembers. She remembers.

The screams. The shouts. The jeers. The threats.
The screams. The shouts. The jeers. The threats.
The screams. The shouts. The jeers. The threats.

The witch of the future shuts her eyes
And returns to a tormented sleep
